Inside Out Action with JR
Selected by JR and his team, Sarah Tamani led an Inside Out Action as an extension of her Night Emperors, the viral tribute to New York’s nightlife community that she created. On January 14th, 2021, fifty colossal portraits took over the streets of the Lower East Side, celebrating the DJs, bartenders, artists, and icons who keep the city alive after dark. With JR’s resources and her vision, the installation honored the culture, creativity, and resilience of those who inspire in the shadows. We don’t need to sleep to dream.
