Sarah Tamani is an award-winning French designer, art director, painter, and illustrator based in New York. Her work blends fine art, storytelling, and cultural commentary—across canvas, clothing, murals, and animation.

Her Night Emperors—a viral series of ten large-scale hand-drawn tributes to New York’s nightlife community— led to a collab with JR, a TV feature, and acquisitions by the Roxy Hotel, Soho Grand, and Paul Sevigny. Her clients include Adidas, Refinery29, Nike, Equinox, and Konbini.

She studied literature and philosophy in France and holds an MFA in Design as Entrepreneur from SVA. Inspired by psychology and cognitive dissonance, she believes our reality is shaped by our beliefs and trauma: our external world mirrors our internal one. Her art challenges opposites. Think a cactus offering free hugs or two boxers hugging instead of fighting, inviting viewers to feel and think deeply.

Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will rule your life and you will call it fate. — Carl Jung

She hand-painted a collection with luxury label Helena Magdalena, and created a mural for Eli Escobar’s club Gabriela. Her art infuses poetry, symbolism, and subversion. At its soul is a need for connection: to be fully seen.

In the midst of winter, I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer. — Albert Camus
