Sarah Tamani is a French painter, illustrator, and award-winning designer and art director based in New York. Her work blends fine art, storytelling, and cultural commentary—across canvas, clothing, murals, and animation.

Her Night Emperors series — ten viral, large-scale hand-drawn tributes to New York nightlife — led to a TV feature, a collab with JR, and permanent installations at the Roxy Hotel, Soho Diner, Baby Grand, and in Paul Sevigny’s private collection. Her clients include Adidas, Nike, Refinery29, Equinox, and Konbini.

Heart

She studied literature and philosophy in France and holds an MFA in Design as Entrepreneur from SVA.  Inspired by psychology and cognitive dissonance, she believes our reality is shaped by our beliefs and trauma: our external world mirrors our internal one. Her art challenges opposites. Think a cactus offering free hugs or two boxers hugging instead of fighting, inviting viewers to feel and think deeply.

Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will rule your life and you will call it fate. — Carl Jung

She’s created bespoke, hand-painted pieces with luxury label Helena Magdalena, and murals for nightlife icons like Eli Escobar’s Gabriela. Her art infuses poetry, symbolism, and subversion. At its soul is a need for connection — and to be fully seen.
