Sarah Tamani is a French artist, art director, and designer based in New York. Her work fuses visual systems, fine art, large-scale murals, hand-painted fashion, and storytelling.

She is the creator of Night Emperors, a viral series of large-scale artworks celebrating New York’s nightlife community, with over 700 real people hand-drawn. What started as a personal project led to a TV feature, a collab with JR, and acquisitions by The Roxy Hotel, Soho Grand, and private collectors.

She also painted the large-scale mural at Gabriela , the NYC club by Eli Escobar, featured in GQ alongside Mark Ronson. Refinery29 commissioned her large-scale artworks for its iconic 29Rooms event, while Adidas commissioned a T-shirt capsule featuring her illustrations. She creates one-of-one hand-painted fashion, site-specific commissions, and bespoke artworks for brands, hospitality, and private collectors. Her clients include Nike, Instagram, Smirnoff, HBO, and Uber.

With a background in literature and philosophy and an MFA from SVA, her work explores how the external world mirrors the internal. Fascinated by psychology and cognitive dissonance, she looks at how our reality is shaped by our perception, beliefs and trauma.
