Night Emperors
A viral series of nine large-scale hand-drawn illustrations celebrating New York’s nightlife community. Created during the pandemic in 2020, it culminated with a collab with JR and a TV feature, the series portrays more than 500 real people—bartenders, owners, artists, insomniacs—within hyper-real, dreamlike nocturnal scenes. The first eight works capture legendary downtown venues—Lola, Le Bain, Paul’s Baby Grand, Soho Grand, China Chalet, Et Al, Casablanca, and The Box—followed by Ponyboy in Greenpoint (2021) and Early Terrible in Woodstock (2023). Pieces are held by Soho Grand, Baby Grand, Ponyboy, and Paul Sevigny’s private collection.
