Night Emperors

A viral series of nine large-scale hand-drawn illustrations celebrating New York’s nightlife community. Created during the pandemic in 2020 and completed in 2021 with a collab with JR and a TV feature, the series captures real figures—bartenders, owners, artists, insomniacs—within hyper-real, dreamlike nocturnal scenes. The first eight works portray legendary downtown venues: Lola, Le Bain, Paul’s Baby Grand, Soho Grand, China Chalet, Et Al, Casablanca, and The Box. In 2021, Ponyboy in Greenpoint became the final addition. The series has been acquired by Soho Grand, Baby Grand, Ponyboy, and Paul Sevigny’s private collection.
